Nonlinear
partial differential equations and Calculus of variations
have been amang most exciting fields in mathematics over
past many decades.Many important problems from the physical
sciences,geometry,engineering designs and material sciences
can be resolved via the theories and methods developed in
these fields.
The Center of Mathematical Sciences
at the
Zhejiang University put up
this "International Conference on Calculus of Variations and
Partial Differential Equations" during June 20-23,2005,to
bring together many world leading mathematicians in these
fields to discuss some most recent developments. The
conference will be also dedicated to Robert Gulliver,Robert
Hardt and Leon Simon on the ocassion of their 60th
birthdays,and to honor their remarkable contributions to
these subjects.
